Traditionally sales promotion, advertising, personal selling, PR and direct marketing have been used to get customers. How can this be done cheaper? What do I need?
I have often heard it said “I need a website”. My answer is always, ok, WHY?
Invariably, it is because it is felt that it is a source of business, it is where the competitors have a presence and they know that it is where people will find out about their business, where they can buy.

It is a nasty word in a lot of circles, but without sales, you are sunk.
I qualified in College as an Engineer specialising in Data Communications, Electronics and Computers. But it was not long before I ended up selling. I have spent the best part of 25 years studying the topic. I have sold equipment, concepts and services. I have sold for myself and for a Boss. I have been the employee, the Boss, the business owner and, the recruiter!!! There have been complex sales and simple sales, telephone sales and consultancy selling. I have done well, I have done badly, I have been a success and I have been a failure, I have been up and I have been down.
The bottom line is that to survive or to prosper you need to make money, you need to find customers, you need to be focussed and disciplined, you need to, well what do you need to do? What do you feel is the best way of getting your message across?
